Privacy Policy

Row is a habit and goal tracker built to keep your information private. Most of what you put into Row never leaves your phone. This page explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.
- Your habits, goals, milestones, focus sessions, and notes live on your device. We don't upload them.
- When you use an AI feature, only the text you send is passed to our AI provider to generate a reply — it's not stored, not logged, and not used to train AI models.
- We collect the minimum needed to run your account and subscription. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps.
What stays on your device
Your habits, goals, milestones, focus sessions, and notes are stored locally on your device. They aren't sent to our servers, and — because Row doesn't offer cloud sync — they stay on the device where you created them. Deleting the app removes them.
AI features
Row offers optional AI-assisted features: habit suggestions, goal milestone breakdowns, goal reflections, and weekly reviews. When you use one, the specific text you submit for that request is sent through our secure server to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates the response.
That text is used only to fulfill your request. It is not stored on our servers, not written to our logs, and not used to train AI models. Our systems record only non-content details of the request — which feature was used, an identifier for your account, timing, and token counts — never the content itself.
What we collect and store
To run your account and subscription, we store a small amount of information on our backend (hosted by Supabase):
- Account — your Sign in with Apple identifier and the email address associated with your Apple ID.
- Subscription — your purchase and subscription status, received from Apple. We never see or store your payment card details; Apple handles payment.
- Usage counts — counters tied to your account for how often certain features are used, so we can apply fair-use limits. Numbers only, never content.
- Sign in with Apple token — a token that lets us unlink your Apple ID from Row if you delete your account.
Analytics
In released versions of the app, we use product analytics (PostHog) to understand how Row is used. We record app events — such as opening the app, completing a habit, creating a goal, or starting a focus session — associated with a stable identifier for your account (your Sign in with Apple identifier). These events never include your name, email, or the content of your habits, goals, or notes, and we don't use them to track you across other apps or websites.
What we don't collect
Row does not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, or advertising identifiers. There are no ads, no third-party ad networks, and no cross-app tracking. We do not sell your personal information.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run the app:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, and App Store purchases.
- Anthropic — processes AI-feature text to generate responses (not retained for training).
- Supabase — hosts our database and backend functions.
- PostHog — product analytics.
Each processes data only to provide their part of the service.
Data retention
Your account, subscription, and usage data are kept until you delete your account, after which they're removed. We don't retain the text you send to AI features on our servers; our AI provider processes it to generate your response, may retain it briefly to operate and secure its service, and doesn't use it to train models.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account — any time, from within the app (in Settings). This removes your account, subscription, and usage data from our servers and unlinks your Apple ID. You control your on-device data by deleting it in the app or removing the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information.
Children
Row is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
International users
Row is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
